Attitude towards secularists

שו"תAttitude towards secularists
שאל לפני 8 חודשים

Hello Rabbi

In your book, you write about the attitude towards secular people and explain that they do not lack information, and therefore there is what you call 'rape in opinions'. I really missed your reference to the fact that most people probably did not delve into religion (like most religious people), and therefore I had a hard time understanding why this is considered rape? I am not saying that if they had studied in depth they would necessarily have converted, but for the sake of argument, do you think that if they had seriously studied your trilogy, at least some of them would not have converted? If the answer is yes, why call the current situation rape?

A reasonable person born and living in a secular society does not consider the possibility that religion is not a popular superstition. Just as a religious Jew usually does not examine the options of secularism, Christianity, paganism, etc. Beyond that, even if he did examine it, there are major biases that would cause him to reject the arguments. Therefore, in my opinion, most of them are coercive. Of course, there are also those who are not.
