Consultation with the Rabbi

שו"תConsultation with the Rabbi
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Hello Rabbi. I am a student at the Hesder Yeshiva. And I live in its boarding house. I manage to cope well with the fact that my cell phone is not filtered (I have never vandalized) and today I miraculously discovered thanks to an app I installed a few days ago that while I was charging my cell phone and leaving the room.. another student who knew that the cell phone was not filtered took it and viewed hacked sites. Apparently it has been like this for 3 months and I am sad and have deep sorrow that I am responsible for all the vandalism that has been done for 3 months. I changed my password of course. I ask the Rabbi to please give me some kind of receipt in order to try to fix what I have vandalized ……. What does the Rabbi think about fasting … Thank you

peace. First of all, it's not your fault. It was his initiative to use your phone without permission. I see no responsibility on you. I'm not one of those who arrange repentance procedures for people. Do what you understand. Personally, I think it's better to do something that has its own value, a lesson or a mitzvah, rather than fasting.
