Drinking wine on Purim
Hello Rabbi,
I wanted to know, every year I come across discussions about drinking wine on Purim, whether you should drink, whether you shouldn't drink, etc. etc. My question is, ostensibly, since most of the world (if I'm not mistaken) drinks on Purim and many get really drunk, it is an obligation by custom anyway. Do you agree with this?

It is clear that there is no prohibition on drinking. As for the obligation, it is accepted that there is. But some disagree (see for example here: https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%A9%D7%AA%D7%99%D7%99%D7%AA_%D7%99%D7%99%D7%9F_%D7%91%D7%A4%D7%95%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D)
In my opinion, there is no obligation based on custom. Some people do not drink, and if it is truly forbidden, then custom cannot override this.
