In one of your posts you wrote this:
"In the discussion surrounding Moshe Katsav's early release, this confusion was expressed in truly absurd forms. Some claimed that he "paid his debt to society" (an absurd expression in my opinion)."
Could you please explain here why you think the phrase 'paid his debt to society' is absurd?

Because punishment is not the payment of a debt. A person who has not repented, even if he has served his sentence, should not have his status restored. He is a sinner and should be treated as such. If he repents, there is room for argument that he can be treated differently.
