I did an exercise for myself.
I read a story about a certain rabbi (during his training as a rabbi). In his eyes, that rabbi was indeed a great scholar. But his values and morals are not impressive. This is, of course, strongly expressed in his sermons and the books he published after his death.
I read and comment to myself while reading about certain flaws that I notice while reading, in the personality. And this is clearly expressed in the story as well.
Later it is described that he went to university with his knowledge, and that doesn't really fit in with his narrow world…
I look again and notice that I replaced American Rabbi A with American Rabbi B (a well-educated and broad-minded rabbi. Although not perfect at all)
Later, the story softens and takes a more human and humble turn, and most importantly, my attitude towards the story softens.
A central component is not just the story itself, but the personality and my perspective on the personality.
Is something wrong with my judgment?

Something in all of our judgment is flawed, but it seems less so in yours because you at least noticed it at some point and are trying to check and correct it. See the last column (488) about the Mizrahi singer (and even more in the talkbacks that followed) regarding the biases in our judgment.
