Is there free choice for a sane person who feels he has no choice?
Hello Rabbi,
Do you think there is free choice for a sane person who claims to feel that he does not have free choice?
There is a popular philosopher and scientist named Sam Harris who claims that by meditating and observing the content of his consciousness sufficiently, he was able to reach a state where he did not feel that he had free will. Harris claims that by practicing meditation, anyone can reach such a state. How would you respond to such a person who claimed that the experience of free will itself was an illusion?
Thanks in advance.
