Logic training

שו"תLogic training
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Do you think someone who claims to be a Maggid Shiur, Rosh Yeshivah, etc. who gives lessons with care should undergo training and study of subjects such as logic and philosophy?
In other words: Is the fact that there is no such formal education in yeshivot a disadvantage? Given the fact that there is a great deal of overlap between Talmud in I'in and these disciplines?

Absolutely not. In any profession it is useful to know logic and philosophy, but if there is a smart person who uses his head, he does not need to study logic or philosophy to correctly analyze issues. Of course, this can be useful, but it is certainly not mandatory.
