Polymerization in Bar Ilan

5 years ago there was a conference on the subject of polyamory at Bar Ilan. Opponents claimed that the university has a religious character and therefore should not hold such a ceremony. Supporters claimed that Bar Ilan is an academic institution and as such should hold conferences of this type. What do you think? Was it because of the relatively religious nature of the university that such a conference should not have been held?
