Question 80 20

שו"תQuestion 80 20
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Monday to order and why did you deceive me?
A question that bothers me, and from what I get the impression, it bothers many honest servants of God.
If I were to suggest to a nation that they eat a certain herb several times a day and promise that those who ate it would not get cancer, and after a few generations I would see that those who did not eat the herb and ignored the instructions had 20% cancer and 80% did not.
It was precisely those who made sure to eat the herb with great devotion that saw the results: 80% developed cancer and 20% did not.
For example, I would be branded a scoundrel or an extreme fool [or both, even if I had profited from the grass story] and I would have nowhere to direct my disgrace.
And rightly so.

Now for an example: a group claims that Orthodoxy is precisely doing God's will and that through it we become morally upright and that it is good for us in this and in the future, and that it is truly doing what is good and right.
Now it turns out that it was precisely those who believed in Orthodoxy [with varying levels of devotion/identification], approximately 80%, who supported and continue to support the moral depravity [which is fraught with disasters] of the government of a man accused of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, and a senior minister who was convicted twice… and another collection of great inadequacies.
True, maybe/probably there is also 20% who may not be part of the Orthodox identity in its many shades and identities and in any case [for a variety of reasons] support this abjectness.
It is precisely the other side that 80% do not accept Orthodoxy or its diverse identities as the proper path. They do not commit the abject act of supporting this government, and indeed there are about 20% who do believe in Orthodoxy and understand the magnitude of the tragedy and did not vote for this government. But they are only about 20% of this group. [The numbers are estimates, of course]
To me, this is exactly the opposite of what orthodoxy claims. It really looks like a poor scam.
A. How can this be understood?
on. Should we admit that Moses is true and his teachings are true, and Orthodoxy is a lie?
third. Alternatively, the rabbi could point to a specific failure that occurred specifically in Orthodoxy, but essentially it is not a lie and perhaps even the way to do good?

Of course, I am asking about Israeli Orthodoxy [including traditionalists] as it appears before our eyes and within my own people, and not about the versions in the diaspora that probably appear in other forms and patterns of thought, and other expressions of surrounding cultures and different challenges.
I know that in my question I am speaking to many good people who want to do good, but before our eyes we see that what we thought was good [and in our failures so far have claimed specific problems of this and that] is really darkness, evil, lies, ignorance and backwardness. Therefore, in every language of request, if it is possible to make a clear answer accessible to any honest person who is confused.

If I remember correctly, you have already asked this question dozens of times in different styles. And as usual, this is not really a question but a statement. Although here you tried to phrase it as a question, so I will answer. Moses is true and his Torah is true, and this has nothing to do with the question of Orthodoxy or the question of the behavior of Orthodox people. No one promised you that if a person is committed to Halacha, he will be more honest. And even if all the keepers of Halacha are corrupt (which is not the case), Moses is still true and his Torah is true. And on the other hand, it is not true that everyone is corrupt. Some are corrupt, some think that it is appropriate to put up with corruption because of ideological considerations (right-wing, national identity, budget and exemption from service for the ultra-Orthodox, etc.), and of course there are quite a few who do not join this corrupt movement. Next time I'll just delete the "question".
