Should I get a degree in philosophy or get rich independently through books and classes?
Hello and welcome, next year I intend to pursue a degree in psychology (I know your criticism of the field, but I have a strong inclination and talent for it, and I can also make a good living from it) and mathematics (a more realistic basis – I intend to move along the axis of cognitive psychology, probability, statistics, etc.). Now, because in order to truly succeed in these things, you need a sharp and clear mind, I am debating how to enrich myself philosophically – whether to get a degree and give up one of the degrees, even though I do not intend to work in the field of philosophy in the future, but rather it is more of a foundation for other fields, or to enrich myself independently. I am turning to you because you are a great philosopher in my eyes, even though your real occupation is as a physicist, and in philosophy you are self-taught. Do you feel that you have certain shortcomings in philosophical thinking compared to those you know who have done a doctorate in philosophy?
All the best
