The Arizal wrote in advance specifically about the month of Iyar specifically 5758 specifically mostly secular
In the book 'Tzadik Yesod Olam' on the Book of Ruth
In the commentary on the verse
"And if it please the Lord not to redeem you and to redeem you, as I live, lie down until the morning."
Explains in detail and summarizes, and it is the secret of redemption, and writes there that it is precisely the year 5778. 'Sleep until morning' = 5778.
Until 'T' morning, this is 5788.
And also specifies on which day is actually 'Yesod Shabbat' (always the 5th of Iyar)
And if it is not good for your redeemer that there are no good deeds to redeem, then as God lives (an oath) there is some final date (and as you stated in the foundation of the glory of 5778), I will make redemption for myself.
Most of them are secular.
This is a book that is almost 500 years old and has been printed in several editions for hundreds of years.
Wouldn't the Rabbi at least here acknowledge revelation and divine involvement?
The British Mandate also ended only at midnight on Saturday night, which is the 6th of Iyar.
But Ben-Gurion decided that it was inappropriate to desecrate the Sabbath by declaring the Jewish state, so he brought forward the declaration to Friday at 4 p.m. (Thursday, Iyar), even though it was not legal at the time.
So the Arizal knew something (or at least R. Chaim and his student Vittal) and God is also involved in the actual fulfillment of His oath, "If He does not desire good for your redeemer," and if there are no good deeds, there is necessarily some final date, "And I will redeem you, as the Lord lives," and when?
I lay down until morning (5778)
And before that he said that it is in the essence of glory (5th of Iyar).
Does this change our teacher's opinion about God's involvement in the world?
And about the Arizal and its predictions?
