The infinite regression problem

שו"תThe infinite regression problem
שאל לפני 2 שנים

Good week,
I've heard you say several times in various discussions about God that you don't accept infinite regression because it doesn't make sense and it's impossible to get from infinity to our present.
Is this really a justification for not accepting it?
After all, as proof that there is no possible ♾️ end, we have the number line, which is also infinite, but it is still possible to get from 1 to 0, for example. And in general, the time before the Big Bang is not clear how it behaved, if it did, and what was actually there, so why assume that it is not possible? At most, we can say that it is perhaps less likely.
Thank you and good evening.

You haven't heard this from me many times. I don't remember saying it, except maybe once as an illustration of the problematic nature of concrete infinity and the mistakes people make with it. On the number line, you can't go from minus infinity to any point on the line. What does that have to do with going from 0 to 1?
