Torah discussion at events
In the
Hello Rabbi Michi,
I believe (maybe I'm wrong) that when the rabbi participates in family celebrations (engagement, wedding, sheva brachot, brit, pidyon, etc.) or even at a Shabbat or holiday table, then the rabbi is likely to say something, a Torah talk or something like that. It's hard to pass an event or family evening without someone to speak, to convey some message or something educational or similar. So I wondered to myself, after all, the rabbi's method is a thin Judaism, that Judaism is only Halacha, and there is no such thing as Jewish thought, and the rabbi does not deal with the Bible and also skips over the legends of the Sages in the Talmud, so what is left to talk about on such an evening? After all, the rabbi certainly does not bring them Sha'ar Yasher or Ketosh, or halachic chatter (or does he?), so if the rabbi can give an example of what the rabbi is talking about? If at all? I thought maybe the rabbi was talking about philosophy or politics, but if so, it has nothing to do with the time or the event (or can a connection be found?), In short, if possible, general guidelines and an example, I would be happy.
Thank you and good evening.
