When the Haredi will be the majority

שו"תWhen the Haredi will be the majority
שאל לפני 3 שנים

A. Let's say I think the reform is more just than the current situation. Do you think it's legitimate to oppose it because I'm afraid of what will happen here when the Haredim become the majority, and I need a court to be on my side.
on. Why do you think the religious community is so enthusiastically supporting the reform? They are not afraid of what is going to happen here as the Haredim make up a larger part of the population. After all, the Haredim are not at all interested in democracy and freedom or any liberal rights. They do not know the concepts of cleanliness in public conduct, and the court is the only one who can somehow restrain them. Without it, there is going to be a catastrophe here. (I am Haredi, and you are the closest person to a national religious person that I can ask this question to).

A. In principle, no. The veil of ignorance is the basic premise for such a discussion, otherwise it has no point. Fight directly about what you want to fight about, instead of organizing the legal framework to promote it. B. My problem is not the fear of Haredim but the very support for Reform in its extreme formulations. As stated above, your specific future concerns are not supposed to play into this game.
