The one who accidentally injures his friend
Good evening, Rabbi!
I was riding an electric scooter on the road at a reasonable speed in a place where there is no crosswalk. Suddenly, a girl jumped into the road. I hit her and injured her. Am I liable for causing harm/damage?

These obligations are determined by law and not by Halacha. In principle, a person who causes harm is also liable for rape, but here there is room for exemption because of the physical restraint. The question is whether the girl should be told yes. But as stated, the law determines.
