Hello, honorable Rabbi, I wanted to ask whether one must infer from the wording of the students of Rabbeinu Yonah that the practice of reading the weekly portion twice in the original and once in the translation must begin specifically on Sunday of the week of that Torah portion, or whether it need not be specifically then and one may begin already from the time of the afternoon prayer on the previous Sabbath, or perhaps even after the reading of the portion on Sabbath morning?
"A person should always complete his portions together with the congregation, etc." — that is, before the congregation reads the portion in the synagogue, he should read it in his home, whether on Sabbath morning itself or at any time during that week. But he should not go ahead from this week to two or three weeks ahead. And there are people who have the custom to read a little each and every day of the week, and they finish on Sabbath.
