I don’t have any special advice. Study properly. In my opinion, it’s better to focus on in-depth analysis. In the early stages, it’s better to take what is said in the lecture and assume that it is correct, and just try to understand it. With time, you can apply more critical thinking and not accept things just because the lecturer said them. Alongside your regular study, it is worthwhile to set aside time for classic analytical works such as Shev Shema'tata, Sha'arei Yosher, the books of Rabbi Yosef Engel, the books of Rabbi Amiel (although in my view there are quite a few misses there), and the like.
