Right-left correlation kidnapped
Peace and blessings
For a long time now, I have been trying to understand the strange correlation of the right – against the hostage deal, the left – in favor of the deal.
What does this even have to do with?
The obvious facts are that rescuing the hostages will likely come at a certain price in blood. Why is the right not willing to pay it and the left is? What's the connection?
You probably have a solid understanding of the matter, and I would be happy if you could share it with me.

Opposition to the deal is pitting the common good against the good of the hostages (who are individuals). This is a right-wing-nationalist view that puts the nation above the individuals. The left puts the individual at the center, and therefore leans toward the deal.
