Is it permissible, or perhaps appropriate, to rejoice now at the downfall of the wicked who persecute the world of Torah?
Question
Yifat is getting more and more entangled, and from what can be seen, these wicked people who persecuted the righteous, the “students of Your Torah,” are clearly becoming more and more ensnared as soon as the great sanctification of God's name ended. Are we Haredim permitted to rejoice? Or does this fall under the verse, “When your enemy falls, do not rejoice”?
Answer
Before you ask me whether Haredim are allowed to rejoice, ask whether it is permitted to be Haredi, for a Haredi as you describe him is wicked. The great desecration of God's name now carried out by the Haredim is clear proof of that. An event that is nothing but wickedness. So even if you rejoice wrongly, that is the lightest transgression you have ever committed.
