Q&A: Caesar, Student, and Orthopedist
Caesar, Student, and Orthopedist
Question
Hello and blessings.
I am currently reading the book "Caesar, Student, and Orthopedist."
1. Thank you very much — I’m enjoying it a lot.
2. I’d be glad to know whether it was written recently, or whether it is relatively old compared to your other books. I’m asking to know whether you now think there are conclusions there that are not precise enough or not correct.
3. Many times you send the reader to "the first and second book."
Does that mean this is a trilogy, or are they autonomous?
Can they be obtained on the site?
Many thanks in advance.
Answer
I didn’t understand which book you’re referring to. Human as the Grass of the Field? It was written quite a long time ago, but as far as I remember my positions in these areas have not changed very much. In any case, a person should examine the arguments and form his own view, regardless of my previous or current position, or that of anyone else. Even if I have changed my position, if the arguments in the book seem convincing to you, you should adopt them — and vice versa.
The first and second books are the previous books in the quartet: Two Wagons and a Hot-Air Balloon (the first), That Which Exists and That Which Does Not (the second). Each one can be read independently, but there are connections, and therefore there are cross-references. I think I explain this in the introduction.
As for buying the books, there is an announcement on the site.
The second book, That Which Exists, is out of print (= unavailable). There is a site where it can apparently be obtained: http://www.kodeshbook.co.il/product.asp?productid=436
Discussion on Answer
The book That Which Exists is available at a store in Jerusalem—Intellect Books (if I remember correctly, as of two months ago there were about 2 copies), and also at the Koren store on the corner of Shmuel HaNagid Street
