Q&A: Conservative Views
Conservative Views
Question
The Rabbi wrote near the end of the fifth booklet that he agrees more, on certain views, with the Conservative approach. I would be glad if the Rabbi could elaborate more, or point me to a source where he discusses this in detail.
Answer
In general, I don’t like these labels, because generalizations always miss the truth. In my opinion, there really is no definition of the term Conservative (as distinct from Reform or secular). It is a kind of open Orthodoxy, and there is no single line that defines it.

Discussion on Answer
What about them? If they were done according to Jewish law, they are valid, and if not, then not. The question is whether he falls into the category of someone who is not proficient in the nature of divorce and betrothal law, but plainly that does not prevent the marriage from taking effect.
What about marriages performed by a Conservative rabbi?
