Question
Hello,
My soul is in my request: perhaps the Rabbi could write a post about the elections in general and about Feiglin’s party in particular (the Rabbi wrote that he might write one after all)? Please…
Answer
I’m thinking about it. Although it’s hard for me to see why this borders on a matter of saving lives, and this requires further consideration.
Discussion on Answer
What’s so interesting about this phenomenon? From what they say, it seems they’re relating mainly to his promises of legalization, and are less excited by the other rabbits he has in his hat (they’re both less aware of them and they’re also harder to implement).
I don’t need the Rabbi’s opinion on the Zehut party, but I’d be glad to see a response post to this post by Rabbi Aviner:

I haven’t looked into the cannabis issue, but his description sounds exaggerated to me. Nowadays a great many people smoke it even without permission, and I haven’t heard of all the disasters he reports. But even if this drug is harmful, the question whether to ban or permit it is a question that should be discussed on its own merits. It’s possible that the ban causes additional problems (it’s more expensive, there’s crime surrounding the matter, and it’s still fairly accessible to anyone who wants it, and it isn’t enforceable). Beyond that, Feiglin’s platform contains many other components besides legalization.
There’s a very interesting phenomenon: many Meretz voters are giving their vote to Feiglin. That’s what I’ve seen people writing in several places. In my view, there’s a deep desire here to change the worldview and the style of political discourse, and by now right and left are less important. Feiglin heralds something completely new, and the very newness itself is hope for something good. And much more could be said.
