Question

Is Christianity nowadays considered idolatry? Is it permissible to enter churches in order to enjoy the beauty?

Answer

It is commonly accepted that Catholicism is. Protestantism probably is not. Entering and admiring Protestant churches, in my opinion, is also not recommended.

What does “it is commonly accepted” mean?
It is commonly accepted that one cannot disagree with the medieval authorities (Rishonim).
Keter usually makes a point of thinking independently and not just publicly following convention.
Also, I’d be happy to hear what our master Rabbi MDA came up with in his wisdom regarding the problem with entering a church that does not practice idolatry.
