Hello,
I wanted to ask what the source is for avoiding physical contact with an unmarried woman who is ritually pure.
I saw that there are a lot of discussions about this online, and they all just confused me.
From what I understood, an unmarried woman is forbidden at the Torah level because of the status of niddah, since she has not immersed. An unmarried woman who did immerse and is ritually pure is forbidden rabbinically.
But everything I saw talks about sexual relations. My question is specifically about affectionate touch or something like that, not something that could develop into sexual relations. Why would that be forbidden if she is ritually pure?
