Abomination — Worship?
Question
Rabbi, do you agree with the argument here regarding homosexuality? And if not—why not?

Answer
This has already come up here, and I too have written about it more than once (mainly in light of the Talmudic passage in Nedarim 50, and other appearances of the word “abomination” in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh)). In principle, I agree.
Discussion on Answer
I wrote something close to that as well (also in the third book of the trilogy). I argued that perhaps the prohibition applies to someone who does this because of his evil inclination. But someone for whom this is his natural inclination may perhaps not be prohibited. Nuances and contextual readings in the Torah are not a sufficiently clear basis for such a ruling, and therefore I do not have a clear position. It is only a suggestion.
I’m not talking about the term “abomination,” but about his proposal that nowadays homosexuality is not really forbidden. See there.
