Question

Does the fact that human nature is interested in and wants to believe that something is true provide some indication of its truth? It's clear to me that sometimes it doesn't—for example, the fact that it's convenient for someone to believe that he is smart and so on, and that this will make him happy, doesn't mean it's necessarily true. But does the fact that certain ideas affirm a person and make him happy indicate something real?
