Q&A: First you go out and only afterward go in?
First you go out and only afterward go in?
Question
Hello and good morning,
A few days ago I had an interesting argument with a Haredi neighbor at the entrance to the building. I was on my way out and he was on his way in, and in that situation we couldn't keep a distance of 2 meters. For my part, I asked him to go back out first, while he insisted that I let him go in first (as if this were the number 55 bus to Geula). Who was right, and can proof be brought from the Talmud in Berakhot 47a?
Best regards,
Benjamin "the one who goes out first" Goralin
Answer
It has nothing to do with the topic there. If anything, maybe the relevant case is that of the ascents of Beit Horon (Sanhedrin 32b), and now you have to decide which of you is the loaded boat and which is the empty one, and which is closer than the other.
Was the fact that one person was Haredi and the other wasn't mentioned in order to settle the question of who is the full wagon and who is the empty wagon?
