Q&A: Jewish Law and Kabbalah
Jewish Law and Kabbalah
Question
The Rabbi writes in the second book of the trilogy about Kabbalah, and about the fact that sages are cited there, but the Jewish law found there does not obligate us in a formal sense, and therefore there is no obligation to do what they say. And that is also the reason that ordinary Jewish law overrides the law of Kabbalah.
Is there not substantive authority in the words of the sages of Kabbalah? After all, the ability of the sages in their generation was greater than what we have in the present generation.
Answer
I answered this in a parallel thread. Why ask the same question in two different threads?
