Q&A: ADI Donor Card
ADI Donor Card
Question
Does the Rabbi think it is advisable to sign an ADI donor card (organ donation)?
I would be happy to hear about the halakhic aspects of the issue.
Answer
Definitely yes. In my opinion, rabbinic approval is not needed either.

Discussion on Answer
I don’t think it’s right to take that into account. “Each of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths.”
Does that also apply to a non-obligatory commandment?
Yes. And even to something that is not a commandment at all. Any act of value.
I want to sign the card, but I know that when the time comes my parents will take it really hard. Should I ignore that because I think their considerations are mistaken, or is it not worth doing a favor for a stranger at the cost of causing pain to those closest to me?
