Q&A: Informing ??
Informing ??
Question
MK 1 wanted to embarrass Mansour Abbas. So he went up to the podium and praised Abbas in Arabic, saying that thanks to him another Jewish yeshiva would be established in Judea and Samaria [in Evyatar]—what a wonderful historic privilege…
And they publicize this in the Arab sector. Of course, as expected, this stirs up waves in the Arab sector against Abbas, who made this possible.
My question: doesn’t this act have at least a whiff of informing?
A speech, and specifically in Arabic, and passing it on to Israel’s enemies…
Answer
I don’t think so. This is legitimate criticism. According to your approach, would it be forbidden to criticize Arab Knesset members because of the danger they may face? An MK who goes into politics has to take into account the fact that there will be criticism.
