A Question in Philosophy
Question
Hello Rabbi,
Recently I read an article in philosophy claiming that the connection between the truth of a theory and the understanding of natural phenomena should be severed (as opposed to the common approach, according to which a necessary condition for a scientific theory to provide understanding of the world is that it truthfully describe reality). I was interested to know whether the Rabbi has addressed this somewhere, and what the Rabbi’s position is.
Thank you
