Q&A: The Nature of a Woman.
The Nature of a Woman.
Question
Hello Rabbi,
As is well known, we have nothing besides reason and logic.
If so, a man who does not use them and instead casts his lot on baseless emotion and a faith that solves everything is somewhat lacking in level and quality.
But the question is: what about a woman? Can one relate to her naivete with greater leniency, since that is her nature / the inclination of her soul?
Isn’t it also her role to learn, to investigate, and to sift truth?
Thank you very much.
Answer
There is no difference at all between a man and a woman in this regard. Every adult person is required to use his or her intellect, and bears responsibility if he or she does not do so. When I wrote that there is no difference, I did not mean that there are no differences in psychological and intellectual makeup, but rather that those differences are not important. Just as the difference between a wise person and a foolish person is not relevant here. Every person is required to use the best judgment they have.
