Have you written anywhere about the distinction between preparation for a commandment that is part of the commandment itself and is actually a commandment-act—for example, blowing a shofar as preparation in order to blow it, or betrothal in order to marry—versus preparation for a commandment that is just an ordinary act, like buying a lulav or getting a good night’s sleep so you can learn better?

For example, where would building a sukkah fit in? Baking matzah?
On the one hand, they do not immediately and directly bring about the result, meaning the commandment itself; but on the other hand, we see that they require being done for their own sake and with intention in those acts as well, so perhaps it is impossible to say that they are merely ordinary preparation, no?
