Hello Rabbi!
I wanted to share with the Rabbi something that is much more than just a feeling. Something that comes from a genuine sense that on Saturday night, something happened here on the scale of the splitting of the Red Sea. I have a PhD in physics and worked for several years in Israel’s defense industry, on projects that are still at the cutting edge of the State of Israel. When I look at what happened on Saturday night, on the scientific level it simply could not happen. The probability that everything, literally everything, would line up does not exist in complex systems like the defense systems that were operating. They have never—ever—not only in the State of Israel, been tested in real time before. I took a pencil and plunged into calculations to check the probability that such a result could be realized. The very large number of events that had to be handled, when each missile or UAV is handled independently—that is, human error or some deviation in one action is not offset by successful actions elsewhere—multiplies the chance of error. Even with all the advanced technologies, the expectation was that there would be a breach in the defense of the skies of the State of Israel. Even if we had gotten 90% protection, that would have been considered a miracle. What happened was that everyone, absolutely everyone—the pilots, the system operators, and the technology operators—acted as one person at one moment, in complete unity. If that is not a divine act, then I no longer know what a miracle is. It is more striking than the victory in the Six-Day War or the War of Independence. There it can be explained according to nature. The deliverance that came to the Jewish people on Saturday night is simply impossible in natural terms. I believe that this miracle saved the lives of many people among the Jewish people. If the defense system had failed to intercept even several cruise missiles, the result would have dragged us into a very complex campaign. I would not bet that next time it would work like this without divine providence. The simple proof for what I am saying is that the managers of the defense industries who develop and manufacture these systems promise no more than 90% success!
