Q&A: The Quran’s Scientific Proofs of Its Truth
The Quran’s Scientific Proofs of Its Truth
Question
Hello Rabbi,
I am engaged in researching the Quran.
From what I have seen and studied in the Quran, I am certain that it is not the word of God, both because I did not find in it any rational proof, and furthermore because it actually contradicts the laws of the Torah.
I have also found many contradictions in what it says.
I am having conversations with Muslims.
As part of my research, I came across a collection of prophecies that Muslims claim to attribute to the Quran. According to them, these are things that no person in Muhammad’s time could have known.
And they try to derive from this evidence for the truth of their religion.
I do not understand physics.
I wanted to ask Your Honor whether, when you have time, you could go over these arguments and see whether there is anything to them.
It is important to me to be prepared in advance for any argument that may be directed at me.

Thanks in advance.
Answer
Unfortunately I don’t have time for this. I’ll make a general remark.
I have experience with the scientific prophecies that people find in our own sources, and they do not hold water. I assume it is the same there. It is very easy to find general statements that sound like relativity or quantum theory. But general statements are not scientific theories and not prophecy. Usually, any such general statement can also be reconciled with anything, so it is not falsifiable.
By the way, usually these arguments are pointless anyway. Everyone just digs in to their own position. It’s a waste of time.
