Most people don’t have the energy right now to read long articles, start philosophizing about all kinds of ideologies and philosophical ideas. The overwhelming majority of the “light” religious crowd are simply tired of all sorts of religious obligations that seem irrational to us, and all this is mainly because there’s no alternative that puts things on the table and isn’t afraid to deal with things that are taboo.

The problem is that, like most people, we’re really just looking for yes or no, and we’re interested in the “why” only when the answer doesn’t satisfy us. And our address is usually Google, but the problem is that Google is not a halakhic authority.

Does the Rabbi know of an alternative Shulchan Aruch, one that isn’t afraid of explosive issues? One brave enough to rule “yes” and “no,” that doesn’t look to be stringent, that isn’t afraid to shatter myths (such as legumes on Passover for Ashkenazim, modest pants for women, etc.)
