Be among the saints and do what is right and good.

שו"תBe among the saints and do what is right and good.
שאל לפני 10 שנים

Hello Rabbi,
Regarding the Ramban's words about 'and you shall do what is right and good' and 'be holy' –
Does this mean that in addition to observing the laws, we must be moral, that we should not think that it is enough to observe the laws, that we must take care that in addition to this we do not become villains…
Or does it mean that in addition to the norms, we must grasp the 'spirit of Halacha', delve into its intention, and fill the 'voids' that are created… According to the very purpose of the commandment of the Law of God, we are to be good and upright, and the commandment of the Law of Moses is to be pious and holy.

Be holy, the second is to do what is right and good is the first. Similar to these two types of explanations, see the distinction in my article here .
