I'm just curious to know whether Rabbi Michi knows Islamic mysticism (Al Azali, for example) and what the rabbi thinks about it?
Do you think Jews are allowed to study and engage in this?

I don't know. If you think it could be useful to you, why not? Rabbi Maimonides dealt with this, for example. See two articles on this by (Dov?) Maimon in Akademut.
