Rejection of the multiverse theory

שו"תRejection of the multiverse theory
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Hello Rabbi! In your book God Plays Dice, you deal with the theory of multiple universes, which solves the problem of the low probability that a world like ours will be created (with natural laws that are adapted to life, when a slight deviation would prevent the possibility of life), you refute the theory there and there. I didn't understand why the theory helps solve the problem of probability, because if in our world the ratio of life creation is, say, one in a million, then what does it help that there are another million or billion universes, in each of which a lottery of one in a million is held? Finally, from observing the Big Bang theory, it appears that if there were a slight deviation, then we would not have arrived at a world with natural laws like ours, so what does it help that there are parallel universes in which the lottery was also held? Is the theory based on the fact that the bang affected all those universes, and then that turns everything into one lottery?
Thank you very much for the really good book.

I didn't understand the question. If the chance is 1 in a billion and there are a billion attempts, then it's likely that one such universe will be created. What is the chance of getting a 6 a hundred times in a row when rolling a die? But if you roll it billions of times, it's possible that there will be a chain like that.
