Torah

שו"תTorah

Shalom Rabbi (in parentheses, I would love to know how you would like to be called, 'Rabbi' Michael or Michi?)
I assume that studying Torah is one of the most central commandments in Judaism based on many sources, T'T against all others, etc. And I don't understand why it's so important to study Torah. In the old days, there weren't many students and there was a fear that the Torah would be forgotten, but today, there are thousands of students, even if I and hundreds of people don't study, nothing will happen. My question also applies to studying Halacha and the Talmud and the Gemara and the Pentateuch with its commentators, since today there is no shortage of people to ask about Halacha. What's so big about it?

Call me whatever you want. I don't care. A. Do you understand why it is important not to eat pork or to observe Shabbat? Therefore, the fact that you do not understand is not evidence of anything. B. There are two errors in your argument: 1. You assume that it is a means (to know Torah, to rule like this) but I disagree with you on this. In column 479 I showed that it has its own value. 2. Even if it were a means, the situation you describe is due to this attitude towards learning. If it were not, we would not be in this situation. And if we stop, the situation could change.
