Acquiring Torah knowledge

שו"תAcquiring Torah knowledge
שאל לפני 3 שנים

Hello Rabbi,
I am interested in acquiring Torah knowledge and halakhic scholarship, like the rabbis I see who quote from everywhere and know everything. In my understanding, what needs to be learned is:
Shas Mishnayot, Tosefta (with Lieberman's simplified Tosefta), Shas Bavli, Shas Yerushalmi, Rambam, some Ritva, some Rashba, Tur with Beit Yosef, and Shulchan Aruch with Taz and Mishnah Berurah.

I would be happy if you could add your opinion, and also if you could give me tips on how to acquire broad knowledge in the Torah, thank you very much.

If you want knowledge like the rabbis, learn what they learned (ask them). The decision of what to learn is a function of what you want to know. But in my personal opinion, knowledge is not as acute an issue as it used to be. Theoretical ability and skill are much more important. Here, of course, it is impossible to give a list of books.
