Regarding Lesson 7 on Jewish Law and Morality
Question
The lesson is amazing, and the conclusion is original and interesting. I wanted to ask: when the Talmud says, “Why do I need a verse? It is logical,” isn’t that basically based on moral values? The logic would seem to be based on intuitive moral values. And if so, then the Sages apparently do see Jewish law and morality as indeed overlapping.
Answer
I have an article on logical reasoning here on the site. Everything is explained there in detail.
