Q&A: The Morality of Hamas Terrorists
The Morality of Hamas Terrorists
Question
Hello Rabbi Michi!
Your statements are well known regarding judging a person morally according to his own outlook.
As I understand your position, the judgment is made about the person only if the act constitutes a betrayal of his own values.
If so, what about Hamas terrorists?
In my eyes there is not the slightest doubt that they must be eradicated, and that this is a murderous and destructive ideology that commands killing infidels (including Muslims who are not on the "correct" path) and the supremacy of Islam, etc. (like Amalek, where if their entire foundation is built on evil, they should be killed down to the last one of them).
But in their eyes they are doing the right thing: they kill and murder Jews who "stole and robbed" from them the "holy" land of Palestine.
If so, should they be judged according to their own outlook?
Have a happy and amusing Thursday.
With the blessing of Torah,
The questioner!
Answer
I didn’t understand the question. You presented my position at the beginning of the question, and then you ask me what my position is? It seems to me that I even explicitly addressed Hamas and Islamic terrorists and murderers in the column that dealt with this.
