Q&A: The Principle of Causality
The Principle of Causality
Question
Hello Rabbi,
I recently happened to listen to the debate you held with Aviv Franco about whether belief in God is rational, and I wanted to ask: how is it that toward the end of the debate, the Rabbi agreed with Aviv that theoretically there could be a universe without causality, and at the same time argued that causality is always true and that everything must have a cause, even outside our reality?
How does that fit together? Thank you very much.

I’ve answered this several times in the past.
