Q&A: Important Philosophers to Focus On
Important Philosophers to Focus On
Question
Hello Rabbi Michi,
You wrote, "What Maimonides did for Aristotle should today be done for Kant, Wittgenstein, and others" (I'm working on that), and I'd be glad to know which other philosophers you mean by writing "and others."
Thank you,
Answer
These really are strange questions. Each person should do it for whoever interests him.

Questioner:
What's strange about asking whom you meant when you wrote "and others"?

Rabbi:
I didn't mean anyone specific. I meant that this should be done for philosophers who are significant in your eyes, and each person should do it for whoever is significant in his eyes. Especially since the context of your question is that you're dealing with this yourself, why does it matter who I think it should be done for? Do it for whoever is significant in your eyes (who is not necessarily significant in mine).
