Question
If the Holy One, blessed be He, possesses all perfections—which would mean that He is unchanging—how can we explain the moment of the world’s creation, when there seemingly was a change in His will?
Answer
First, who says that He possesses all perfections? It is possible that He is perfect only together with us. Along these lines, Rabbi Kook wrote in Orot HaKodesh, vol. 2, regarding perfection and perfecting/becoming perfected. See my article on Zeno’s Arrow.
