Q&A: The Book The Science of Freedom and Professor Haim Sompolinsky’s Approach
The Book The Science of Freedom and Professor Haim Sompolinsky’s Approach
Question
Hello Rabbi,
I finished reading the book The Science of Freedom and learned a great deal from it. Throughout the book, the Rabbi mentioned from time to time the approach of Professor Sompolinsky, and especially toward the end of the book showed the many flaws from which it suffers. At the same time, the Rabbi noted that he discussed the issue with Sompolinsky and did not manage to convince him. Could the Rabbi:
1. Briefly present Haim Sompolinsky’s arguments that came up in response to the many criticisms?
2. Say why, despite everything, the arguments presented in The Science of Freedom did not succeed in convincing him?
Many thanks!!
Answer
I don’t know what to say beyond what is written in the book.
