Q&A: Moshe Saada
Moshe Saada
Question
With God’s help,
what is the Rabbi’s opinion on the Saada uproar? Basically, that Shmaya is right, and corrupt Bibi is small-time corrupt compared to the others?
Answer
I haven’t followed it. I also don’t deal in measuring who is more corrupt and who is less. Bibi is certainly corrupt to the core. Maybe there are other corrupt people too, and that’s a shame. It’s also a shame that people think every corruption they find cleanses Bibi.
Discussion on Answer
I’m not talking about a criminal conviction. Listen to the testimony about the gifts and the rest of it.
It’s clear to me that he’s being persecuted, by both the prosecution and the press, and has been for years (even before the cases). I don’t need Saada for that. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t corrupt. On the contrary, my guess is that they’re probably going after him because they’re convinced he’s corrupt, and then they cross lines in order to convict. By the way, I looked into it, and the links he drew to Netanyahu’s cases seem baseless to me.
Rabbi Michi,
You are making a definite claim that Bibi is corrupt to the core.
What is that claim based on?
It’s not clear to me why receiving a gift from a friend (supposedly) turns a person into someone corrupt to the core, while framing cases, extortion, and covering up serious corruption offenses are treated with leniency—and this when one of the site’s darlings is part of that crime gang.
By the way, I’m not a great fan of the Chief Rabbinate, but it’s clear to me that the biggest corrupt figure there is a righteous gentile compared to the Salah al-Din crowd.
So Bibi is definitely corrupt. After all, he was the one who appointed Shai Nitzan as State Attorney, and tiptoed around in order to let the High Court and the prosecution carry out “let him wear black and wrap himself in black and do whatever his heart desires” 🙂
Saada’s argument (it could be that he’s just confusing people’s minds) is that the corrupt ones in Netanyahu’s cases are the prosecution and the police, who tried to frame him, and not Netanyahu.
When the Rabbi says that “Bibi is certainly corrupt to the core,” what do you mean? The cases he’s accused in? Or other things? (After all, he’s only been accused and still hasn’t been convicted, even though he’ll probably be convicted, but that isn’t certain.)
