Q&A: Follow-up to the Question About a Kippah
Follow-up to the Question About a Kippah
Question
I wasn’t able to write the rest of the question in the original question itself, so I’m continuing here:
The measure I was talking about regarding a kippah is a head covering that is visible from all sides.
Second—if by wearing a kippah that is not considered the head covering discussed in Jewish law, we are supposedly continuing the custom, then how is that really a continuation of the custom? After all, the custom is based on a certain measure that today we do not meet.
I’d be glad if you could answer one more question of mine: why do we still wear a kippah? It increasingly divides the people and puts us into a box and a mold.
Thank you.
