Q&A: Zeno’s Arrow Paradox
Zeno’s Arrow Paradox
Question
I just listened to the second lesson on Platonism, and I didn’t understand the Rabbi’s explanation well enough. If velocity is not defined by motion, and there can be velocity even for a motionless body that is not moving, then what exactly is the meaning of that velocity? In what aspect does it exist? I agree that there could be a being that looks at the world in terms of velocities rather than motions of objects, the opposite of us. But even such a being, if it looks at a point in time and not at an interval, would it know that a body has velocity at a point, even though it is not moving?
Many thanks for the lessons the Rabbi uploads to YouTube.
